Curt began his real estate career in January 2010 as a part-time Realtor Associate with Ivy K Realty, while being fully immersed in his Investigations career with the State of Hawaii. Being a motivated self-starter, he managed to complete 6 transactions in his first year, working part-time!
In 2016, Curt joined KOAM Realty, a small boutique firm run by Coldwell Banker veteran, James Son. This new role gave Curt the opportunity to prove his mettle as a fully independent agent, preparing all transactional documents, handling showings, scheduling appointments and seeing each deal through to closing without any support staff.
In March 2020, Curt retired from state government after a 30-year career in Investigations, and immediately immersed himself in real estate full-time, which turned out to be his true passion. Despite the pandemic, between 2020 and 2021, Curt closed 11 transactions totaling $9.42 million.
As the market cooled in 2022 and 2023, Curt still managed to close 2 transactions in each year. In addition to real estate, Curt makes full use of any available down time to work with his daughter, Nicole Coglietta, Co-Founder of CareSift, a long-term care navigation company. He also puts his Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential and investigations experience to good use as a volunteer speaker with the AARP Hawaii's Fraud Watch Network, giving talks to community groups and business organizations about Fraud Prevention.
Curt's 30-year career in Investigations, combined with his 14+ years in real estate have given him invaluable experience and insights in working with people, breaking down barriers, problem solving under time constraints, and solidifying relationships with both businesses and individuals. These traits are part of Curt's DNA and together with his passion for real estate and unquenchable desire to help people, it makes him a high-value asset in this competitive profession. Curt's underlying philosophy is to build generational relationships with people, both in real estate and in life.
